✦ Compass · exclusively in Business Commander

The grading system top operators do in their head — now baked into your CRM.

Every consultant, agency owner, and rep grades clients in their head: who's worth keeping, who gets bumped when resources are tight, who's draining the calendar. Compass turns that judgment into a shared, AI-assisted system. You teach it your company's philosophy once; it grades every account against it forever.

Strategic Fit

Does their business model match what you do well? Reads your ICP + anti-patterns + geography.

Cultural Fit

Philosophy, values, working-style alignment — graded against the company profile you set once.

Growth Potential

Can this 2x or 5x in 24 months — by seats, modules, or new lines? Beyond just current revenue.

Engagement Quality

Do they respond, prepare, and take the work seriously? Or are they ghosts who waste your team's calendar?

Decision Authority

Clear DM with budget who can move? Or a committee that's never made a decision in its life?

Reference Worthiness

Would you put their logo on your homepage? Long-term value signal that revenue alone misses.

The query no other CRM can answer

"Show me all C-grade clients with Locked improvement effort and revenue under $50K — they're the bump-down list when I'm overcommitted."

The CRM you're using right now can't answer that. Compass can.

You teach Compass your mission, ICP, anti-patterns, geography, and goals — once.
Compass grades every account against your lens, with reasoning you can edit.
Your team sees a single A–F letter on every account, with the trajectory over time.
Filters and views surface the right work: top-grade prospects you haven't touched, clients whose grade dropped.
One system. Sales, operations, meetings.

The all-in-one your back office was missing.

From first discovery call to delivered pallet — pipeline, procurement, inventory, production, shipping, and meeting transcripts, all under one tenant with real role-based access and honest pricing.

Floor & field

Built for desks, phones, and the warehouse floor.

Most of your team works from a laptop. Some don't. Production scans a QR to start a work order. Receiving scans a PO when the truck pulls up. Customers scan a packing slip to track their shipment. Same app, same data, same permissions.

Mobile

Install it like an app. No app store required.

Open Business Commander in Safari or Chrome on your phone, hit Add to Home Screen, and it launches full-screen with its own icon — same login, same permissions, no separate download. When you need a real native shell with push notifications and camera scanning, we ship that too.

  • Pipeline + tasks + meetings on your home screen
  • Camera-based QR scanning when wrapped natively
  • Offline shell + smart caching
  • Same RBAC as the web app — no parallel auth
QR codes · built in

Every record gets a printable QR — for free.

Shipments, purchase orders, work orders, and SKUs each get a short, scannable code (like SHP-7K3Q9X). Print it on a label, slap it on a box or bin, scan it on the floor. No third-party label tool, no subscription, no setup.

Shipping
Customers scan packing-slip QR for live tracking — no account needed.
Receiving
Driver hands you a PO QR; one scan opens it for line-item check-in.
Production
Shop floor scans a work order to advance status, log produced quantity.
Inventory
Bin labels: scan SKU + count → cycle counts in minutes, not hours.
How it works

Live in a day. Not a quarter.

From signup to your first pipeline review before close of business. Every step below is self-serve — we're an email away if you get stuck.

1
Minute 0

Request access

Fill out a short form. We onboard a handful of new teams each week and want to set you up right.

2
Minute 5

Sign in with Google or Microsoft

Enterprise-grade auth with SSO on day one. Your team invites land in their inbox; they're in the workspace in minutes.

3
Minute 30

Import accounts & contacts

Drag in a CSV or export from HubSpot or Salesforce. Column mapping catches conflicts before anything saves.

4
Hour 1

Build your pipeline

Rename stages to match how your team actually sells. Drag deals onto the board. Assign owners. Done.

5
Hour 2

Log your first activity

Call made, note dropped, meeting scheduled — it lands on the timeline for everyone with access. No context lost.

6
Day 1

Run your first pipeline review

Weighted forecast, stage aging, owner splits — in front of you by the end of day one, without a single BI dashboard to build.

Migrating from HubSpot or Salesforce? White-glove import is included on Growth and Enterprise — we reconcile in parallel with your current CRM for a week, then cut over on a weekend.

Is this you?

We'd rather tell you "no" than waste your quarter.

Business Commander is opinionated. Here's who gets the most from it — and who should pass.

You'll love it if
  • 5–200 person sales or customer teams
SMBs and mid-market teams who outgrew a spreadsheet but don't want Salesforce.
  • Outgrowing spreadsheet CRM
You feel the tabs creaking. Deals live in different places. Nobody trusts the forecast.
  • Tried HubSpot or Salesforce, hated it
You wanted simple. You got 200 fields and a $15K implementation quote. We're the other direction.
  • Want to self-serve
Your team is capable. You just need a CRM that doesn't need a consultant to log in.
Not a fit if
  • Solo operators
Stay on a spreadsheet or use a solo CRM. We're built for teams — per-tenant RBAC is overkill for one user.
  • Need FedRAMP / ITAR today
Our enterprise deployment is on-contract only. Talk to us — it's on the roadmap, not in production.
  • Need Meetings AI in production today
Meetings AI is on the roadmap with pilot slots opening summer 2026. Today: CRM + Tasks only.
  • Wanting a 6-month RFP
We ship fast. If your procurement needs 200 checkboxes, we're not ready for that buyer yet.

FAQ

Every question someone's asked us in the last 90 days.

The stuff you'd ask on a demo call. Answered here so you don't have to.

What is Compass and why is it different from lead scoring?
Lead scoring tracks behavior — email opens, page views — and gives a numeric score. Compass captures judgment. You teach it your company's mission, ICP, anti-patterns, geography, deal-size band, and target decision-maker titles. It then grades every account on six dimensions you can edit (Strategic Fit, Cultural Fit, Growth Potential, Engagement Quality, Decision Authority, Reference Worthiness) — A through F, with reasoning. AI proposes, your team confirms. The killer query: "show me the bump-down list." No other CRM can answer that.
What actually ships today?
Accounts, Contacts, a drag-and-drop Pipeline, Tasks + Activities, Meetings with live transcription, Procurement, Warehouse, Production, Shipping — and Compass on top of all of it. Plus a real Settings page for roles, modules, and the company profile that powers Compass.
Do I really not need a demo?
For Starter and Growth — no. Request access, connect your calendar, import your contacts, invite your team. If you get stuck, our team responds within hours. We do 30-minute onboarding calls on request, but they're not required. Enterprise buyers (SSO, residency, SCIM) should book a call.
How do you price so much lower than Salesforce or HubSpot?
Modern stack, lean team, AI doing the repetitive work. No reseller channel, no "solutions consultant" markup, no 200-page SOW. We pass the savings to you.
What if I outgrow you?
Full data export from every table as CSV, plus a REST API on Growth and Enterprise. If you want to leave, you leave with everything. We'll even help you migrate — because we'd rather you come back in two years than hostage-keep you.
What happens to my data?
Stored encrypted (AES-256) in a managed Postgres database, US region. We don't sell it, don't train models on it, don't share it with third parties. Full export from every table any time. See the security page for the full posture.
We run on HubSpot or Salesforce. Can you migrate us?
Yes — included on Growth and Enterprise. Our team writes the import scripts, reconciles against your current CRM for a week in parallel, then cuts over on a weekend. Typical migration: 1–2 weeks of calendar time, ~10 hours of your team's time.
What's the cancellation policy?
Monthly plans: cancel any time in-app, effective end of the current period. Annual plans: prorated refund on unused months if you cancel in the first 60 days; otherwise the remaining months finish. No phone tree, no retention department.
Do you have SSO, SAML, SCIM?
Google and Microsoft SSO on Starter and Growth. Full SAML + SCIM on Enterprise. No extra charge, no "security tax." Identity is handled by a best-in-class provider used by thousands of B2B apps.
How does security work — encryption, backups, access?
AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. Point-in-time backup recovery for 30 days. Only named engineers can touch production; every access is logged. Full details on the security page.
What's on the roadmap?
Weekly ship cadence. Headline items next: Meetings AI pilot, email thread sync, reporting dashboards, and a public REST API. Email us if something you need isn't shipped yet — we prioritize by what customers ask for.
Didn't answer your question?
Email hello@business-commander.com — we reply within a few hours on weekdays.
